Organization

To begin conducting charitable gaming in Louisiana, your organization must:

1. Be actively domiciled in Louisiana for two consecutive years immediately preceding the application.
2. Meet all financial suitability requirements.
3. Establish governing documents for your organization, such as:
   • Bylaws
   • Articles of Incorporation
   • Charter
   • Other organizational documents
4. File with the Louisiana Secretary of State.
5. File with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for 501(c) tax-exempt status. This is a tax-exempt status determined by the IRS for charitable organizations.
6. Secure a location where your charitable games will be conducted.
7. Submit a charitable gaming license application to the Office of Charitable Gaming.
8. Attend the required training provided by the Office of Charitable Gaming.
9. Purchase gaming supplies only from distributors licensed by the Office of Charitable Gaming.

Important Notes

• All organization members and officers are subject to suitability requirements.
• A Member-in-Charge (MIC) must be present during every gaming session. It is recommended that your organization designate more than one MIC to share these responsibilities.
• Licensed organizations are subject to inspections, audits, quarterly report reviews, and other compliance activities.
